Sponsor a Program

$5,000 Sponsors a security and communications bootcamp for a progressive organization to learn about outreach to the military, communicating effectively on security issues, and how to stand strong for a progressive security worldview

$3,000 Sponsors a year of education for a new Fellow – a rising policy leader who may be the next Janet Napolitano or Robert Gates – to ensure they support progressive internationalist values throughout their careers, and can articulate them with aplomb!

$2,000 Sponsors a year of training for a new Partner – a rising political leader who may be the next David Axelrod or a future Member of Congress – to understand national security basics, and be prepped for all media appearances or candidate preparation.

$1,000 Sponsors a Veterans Leadership Academy member for a year – a veteran leader who wants to have a positive impact on America’s public life after they return from service – to help them transition from public service on the battlefield to public service on the homefront.

$550 Sponsors a Congressional Security Scholar to take a semester-long, 9 session program on security in our nation’s Capitol so that Congress knows how to outreach to the military, understands that climate change and development aid are security issues, and so much more.
The Congressional Security Scholars program is a program of the Truman National Security Institute, a 501(c)3 organization.

Give Gifts of Stock

Supporters and friends looking for a tax-efficient way to make a contribution to the Truman Project should consider a donation of stock. Stock gifts are a powerful way to support strong security progressives while realizing significant tax benefits. You can get credit for the entire gift without having to pay capital gains tax on the stock donated. Contact our Development Department at 202-216-9723 to arrange a stock transfer.

Matching Gifts

Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match charitable contributions made by their employees, which may double or triple your contribution. Some companies also match gifts made by retirees and/or spouses. To find out if your company has a matching gift policy, please contact your employer.

Make a bequest

A bequest is one of the easiest gifts to make and can help lessen the tax burden on your family. With the help of an advisor, you can include language in your will or trust specifying a gift to be made to the Truman Project as part of your estate plan. For more information, please contact our Development Department at 202-216-9723 or your personal financial advisor.
