Washington, D.C. -- Upon the passing of Dr. Leslie H. Gelb, a member of the Truman Center Board of Advisors, Truman Center and Truman Project President and CEO Jenna Ben-Yehuda issued the following statement:

"The Truman Center for National Policy is deeply saddened by the passing of Dr. Leslie H. Gelb, who was a dedicated public servant, and longtime member of Truman’s board of advisors. Dr. Gelb devoted his career to national security and foreign policy and was an important mentor to the next generation of leaders in the community, including Truman. He was driven by the belief that America is strongest when we stand with allies and lead with diplomacy. We at Truman Center for National Policy are grateful for the expertise and leadership he brought to our organization. His counsel over the years has helped Truman’s members, America’s current and future national security leaders, create solutions for the world’s most pressing challenges. Our thoughts are with his family, and we wish them peace during this difficult time."
