Truman Project Statement on National Security Advisor Michael Flynn’s Resignation

Washington, D.C. – In reaction to National Security Advisor Michael Flynn’s resignation over his conversations with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak, Truman Project President and CEO Michael Breen issued the following statement:

“While it is entirely appropriate that Flynn has resigned from his post, this is but one in a very long series of red flags concerning the Trump campaign and administration’s relationship with Vladimir Putin’s Russia. In accordance with its duty as a co-equal branch of government, Congress must conduct its own series of bipartisan, independent investigations into the Trump campaign and administration’s ties to Russia to assure the American people that we remain independent of Putin’s influence.”
