Agnia is an energy and political risk expert, specializing in Russia and Eastern Europe. She is the author of "The Politics of Energy and Memory between the Baltic States and Russia", (Ashgate 2013) and a frequent media contributor (CNN, CCTV, Forbes, Bloomberg, Reuters, BBC, openDemocracy). A Fellow at the McKinnon Center at Occidental College, she also regularly collaborates with leading American and European research institutions. With more than a decade of experience as a business development and political risk advisor, Agnia has consulted in both the public and private sectors. Previously she served as an advisor in the Lithuanian government. Agnia holds a BA in Economics and Political Science from Columbia University and a Master's and Doctorate in International Relations from the University of Oxford. Having lived and worked in Russia, Georgia, Lithuania, UK, and France, Agnia currently resides in Los Angeles with her husband and their two children. Her second book "Rebuilding the Russian Empire" (Yale University Press) is coming out late 2015, and she has received an advanced contract on her third book "The New Geopolitics of Gas" (Harvard University Press).
