The Gaston Gazette on Madeleine Albright’s support for veterans at Truman’s Salute to Service Breakfast:

One of the most celebrated stateswomen in American history had her morning cup of joe in an uptown Charlotte restaurant Wednesday, much to the delight of dozens who gathered to shake her hand.

Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright walked around Fitzgerald’s restaurant on East Fifth Street smiling and posing for photographs.

She’s in town for events surrounding the Democratic National Convention and was honored at a “Salute to Service” breakfast organized by the Truman National Security Project.

Widely regarded for helping break the “glass ceiling” for women in upper-level political positions, Albright served as secretary of state from 1997 to 2001 during the Clinton administration.  . . .
