Congressman Deutch and Lt. General Kerrick to Pressure Congressional Republicans on Defense Spending

By Stephanie Dreyer | 9.13.12

Washington, D.C. – On Friday, September 14 at 11:00am ET, the Truman National Security Project will hold a press conference call to discuss Congressional Republican priorities and the need to avoid defense cuts by enacting a balanced approach to the budget.

Rather than compromise on a plan to avoid Sequestration, Congressional Republicans continue to prioritize tax cuts for millionaires over national security funding while blaming the Administration for the cuts they voted to impose. Congressman Deutch and former Deputy National Security Advisor Lt. Gen. Don Kerrick will call on Congress to protect our national security by avoiding Sequestration’s across-the-board defense cuts.

Rep. Ted Deutch, Congressman for Florida’s 19th district
Lieutenant General Donald L. Kerrick (ret), former Deputy National Security Advisor to the President
