Washington, DC – In response to comments made by a Senior Foreign Policy aide to Mitt Romney that the Libya attack would not have happened under a Romney administration, Truman Project Vice President Mike Breen said the following:

“With threats to our embassies and unrest continuing in multiple countries across the Middle East, this is a time for statesmanship not partisan sniping. It is disappointing at best that Mitt Romney’s campaign chose to attack the President even before the flames at our consulate in Benghazi had been extinguished. There will be a time for political debate and investigations into what has occurred, but first all patriotic Americans must stand together to resolve this crisis and ensure the safety of our civil servants.”
