John Armiger
John Armiger is a political affairs officer in the U.S. Foreign Service at the Department of State. John graduated from Georgetown University School of Foreign Service, during which he was a teaching assistant to Madeleine K. Albright who teaches a course on national security policy. John received his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center. His studies focused on public international law, national security, human rights, and peacekeeping; he also received a certificate in refugee and humanitarian emergencies. Prior to joining the Foreign Service, John was a legislative assistant to former U.S. Senator Paul S. Sarbanes and was a consultant at the World Bank. John served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Benin, West Africa and has traveled extensively in sub-Saharan Africa, the Indian sub-Continent, Europe and the South Pacific. He is a member of the United Nations Association of the United States. Originally from Baltimore, John has worked on several political campaigns from Maryland to South Dakota.
