Oren Ipp is an international development professional with more than ten years’ experience in democratic governance. Oren has expertise in post-conflict governance, with a regional focus on Afghanistan and South Asia. Oren is currently a consultant for a number of organizations, including the Geneva Center for Democratic Control of Armed Forces (DCAF), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and Development Transformations. During 2006-2008, Oren was based in Kabul, Afghanistan, where he directed the national and sub-national legislative programs of the National Democratic Institute (NDI). Prior to moving to Afghanistan, Oren worked with NDI in Washington, DC, supporting the Institute's South Asia programs.Among Oren's publications are the chapter "Parliamentary Oversight of the Security Sector in Afghanistan" in the forthcoming volume "Deconstructing Afghanistan's Security Sector," and a March 2009 article in the San Francisco Chronicle titled, "Crisis in Afghanistan." Oren holds a Master's degree in International Policy Studies from Stanford University.
