William Edwards

William Edwards is currently the Legislative Assistant for Veterans' Affairs for U.S. Senator Jim Webb of Virginia.  He was the lead staffer for Senator Webb's Post-9/11 G.I. Bill, which became law on June 30, 2008.  For these efforts he was recognized by The Military Coalition as one of two recipients of their 2008 Freedom Award, presented annually to Congressional staff whose efforts have done the most to improve the lives of the military and their families.  He is a Captain in the Army Reserve with the 352nd Civil Affairs Command in Ft. Meade, MD, and is a veteran of three deployments, including Bosnia-Herzegovina in 1999-2000, and most recently as a company commander during Operation Iraqi Freedom.  He holds a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA from the University of Georgia.
