Intern Security Springboard
The springboard is a leadership development program for summer interns in Washington, intended to arm a new generation of policymakers and politicos with a firm grasp of national security issues and the philosophical tradition of strong progressive national security thought.
A narrow pipeline of progressives interested in national security during college will mean an anemic bench of experts, media personalities, and activists who can speak to national security issues twenty years down the road. The Truman Institute’s Intern Security Springboard is solving this problem, offering driven young progressives an opening into national security.
Each summer, we welcome over 100 promising young minds to luncheon seminars over five weeks. The program introduces Washington’s newcomers to an array of issues influencing national security and gives them an opportunity to hear from experts in the field.
Congressional Security Scholars is a program of our sister organization, the Center for National Policy.
