WASHINGTON, D.C. — This morning, the Truman National Security Project proudly announced two new official endorsements: Lorenzo Santos for Racine County Executive and Ryan Mello for Pierce County Executive.
“Lorenzo has a long track record of public service as a Navy Veteran and Racine County Emergency Manager, as well as strong and necessary connections to the private sector,” said Tony Johnson, Truman’s President and CEO.
Santos plans to lead Racine County through robust economic development, enhance public safety, and strengthen public health services. He’ll bring his years of leadership from Navy service, the private sector, and as Racine County Emergency Manager to the office of Racine County Executive.
Equally impressive with 17 years of local government experience, including four on the Pierce County Council (the last two as Chair), Ryan Mello has led on issues related to climate, transit and transportation, affordable housing, growth, LGBTQ+ civil rights, supporting veterans, and improving the lives of working families. “Ryan has firmly established his credentials and expertise as a strategic leader - and one with the depth of expertise and credibility to step into the role of Pierce County Executive on day one,” said Angelic Young, Truman’s Vice President for Community and Impact.
Both Santos and Mello, as long-time members of the Truman National Security Project, have earned their endorsements through their integrity, expertise, and passion.
We enthusiastically endorse their candidacy.
