Truman Project Welcomes An Innovative Voice in Tech and Security: Sidney Olinyk Joins Board

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Washington, D.C., September 9, 2024 – The Truman National Security Project is a nationwide community of defense, diplomacy, development experts and industry leaders with extensive civilian, military, and private sector experience. We work together to influence, and shape America’s national security discourse, and broaden participation in debate and decisions about U.S. national security. The Truman Project is proud to announce the addition of Sidney Olinyk to our Board of Directors. Sidney brings a dynamic blend of experience and innovation that will bolster Truman’s mission to develop and champion  smart, strong, and principled strategies to confront challenges to U.S. national security.

Sidney Olinyk is the founder and CEO of Duco, whose mission is to empower leading companies to operate safely, securely, and responsibly by mobilizing the world’s leading experts. Previously, Sidney served as the Chief of Staff for Middle East Policy in the Office of the Secretary of Defense during the Obama Administration where she managed interagency coordination, developed regional defense strategies, and supervised organizational change efforts. She also worked at Truman from 2010-2013, running the fellowship and membership departments. Sidney’s broad national security, policy, technology, trust and safety advisory expertise make her a leading voice in both government and the private sector.

“Sidney’s exceptional background and leadership experience—from the Pentagon to Silicon Valley—brings an unmatched perspective to our Board,” said Johnson. “Her ability to identify, understand, and navigate the interconected and quickly evolving  trends in policy and techology. That perspective  will be instrumental in helping Truman drive insightful and impactful change in the national security arena.”

The addition of Sidney to the Truman National Security Project board strengthens our leadership and capability  to develop and advance bold, principled solutions for the most pressing security challenges confronting our nation.

“It is a privilege to join the Truman National Security Project's Board of Directors after more than a decade of active engagement,” said Olinyk. “In a world grappling with the implications of rapid technological advancements and a volatile global landscape, principled leadership in national security is paramount. I am thrilled to contribute to the Truman Project’s community and mission of developing and championing bold, innovative solutions that safeguard our future.”
